This should be a great game - two great teams and everyone here is on edge. I can only imagine what it's like in Spain right now. This could either be a repeat of UEFA Euro 2008 - or sweet revenge :D

I just hope the refs don't screw up any calls.

Unfortunately, Paul the Octopus has chosen Spain to be tonight's winner:

I guess it's a very difficult match for both teams. I hope just to watch a wonderful match full of power and many goals!

For myself i've make pick a nice bet on Germany win. Let's see!:notworthy

I think we're gonna see a first half of total stalemate.

Ze Germans will force the spaniards to play uncharacteristically tight and I'm not so sure they can for a full game.

Prediction: Goalless after 90 minutes, the big G wins in extra time on shear stamina.

man - some nail-biting moments during the first half. I hope someone scores a goal soon to get these guys moving. :p

Too many subs put in due to Mueller out....ruined the "German" flow.
Spain outplayed them, the goal sucked. Too many tall guys stood around on the corner kick.
Guess the octopus was right.

I am sad.:(

Gotta say, I got this one wrong. Kudos to Spain for doing their thing and props to Germany for a good campaign. Let's hope both final games will be quality ones.

I am so glad that german anti-football did not spoil one more WC !

Watching German soccer machine has been the most interesting part of the WC for me.
Betting on them vs Argentina has even won me a great dinner! :notworthy

But they really weren't good tonight.

Germany have a young team and this is really only the start of an era for them IMO. They displayed great counter-attacking football throughout but Spain are essentially Barcelona with a few Real players thrown in for good measure. Gonna be hard for the Dutch.

I'll bet your penny to my dime that the Dutch will consume Spain. Deal?

PS - No you can't place a hundo, that wouldn't be fair(to you :D)

I agree - Spanish style, especially after that header into the German goal - really ended a remarkable run for the Germans. Those Spaniards launched attack after attack.

I really thought the German team would take this one and then the final. Poor old Schweinsteiger looked desolate sitting on the pitch after the final whistle went.

But at the end of the day imo Spain deserved the win, and I think they will emerge as the winners against the Dutch.

BTW did you see that Nasa scientists have been critical of the Adidas Jabulani ball?

You should have seen Lahm struggling through the post game interview by the German broadcaster. He was all choked up and teary-eyed like a child - poor guy. They asked him if he was looking forward to the third place match. He more or less said it didn't matter and walked away.

Geeze - it's only a game

The World Cup is a dream, it's your place in history so I can understand his reaction. It would have been like hitting the Aztec Millions jackpot on a 10x max-cashout bonus :D

Paul The Octopus per multiple media reports this morning has passed away in Germany at the age of 2.

Most may recollect that every prediction Paul made during the 2010 World Cup was correct and Paul retired with a perfect record. Amazing achievement and unlikely to ever be equaled!!

Sadly, it was interesting to learn that most octupi do not live past the age of 2. RIP, Paul:)
