$259 440 PAYDAY FOR FTOPS 9 EVENT 10 WINNER
15 August 2008
Despite an initial 2 to 1 lead, "Pokerpro"
Campbell loses the heads up
The ninth edition of the Full Tilt Online Poker Series
is now in full swing, with Event 10 - a $300 buy-in +
$22 NLHE competition - now over, having attracted an
entry field of 4 985 players and generating a prize pool
of a guaranteed $1.5 million.
The entry field included big names like Josh Arieh, Paul
Sexton and Scott Clements, although none of these
advanced beyond 25th position in the action.
The eliminations finally reduced the contest to a three
handed tussle between Harlindo (2 255 131), DoubleDave22
(1 152 462) and James "Pokerpro" Campbell, who at that
time held 11 547 407 chips - a massive lead over his
opponents. By the time DoubleDave22 was knocked out to
set the scene for the heads up, Campbell's lead over
Harlindo had been reduced to a still significant 2 to 1
in chips.
Campbell, perhaps better known to online tournament
players as "jcamby33," and player "Harlindo," delivered
some highly entertaining and exciting poker in the heads
up before Harliondo eventually fought his way into the
lead and eliminated his opponent.
For Harlindo it was a $259 440 first prize payday, with
Campbell taking home $157 500 for his second placing.
