Industry leader hoists the Sunday Million by $500 000


Online poker leader Poker Stars.com has put the pressure on its tournament competitors once again this week, boosting its guaranteed prize pool levels significantly.

The giant poker website's Sunday Million prize pool has been taken up $500 000 to $1.5 million, and the regular Sunday Warm-Up event prize pool has been ramped up $250 000 to $750 000.

In addition to the upgraded prize pools in already-established events, PokerStars has also added a $530 No-Limit Hold'em tournament on Sundays with a $250 000 guarantee.

The company is presently building interest and momentum for its major World Championship of Online Poker, which will this year present 33 events featuring all variants of the game and prize money that is likely to break previous records. September 5th is the date scheduled for the start of this huge online poker event, with a Main Event prize pool expected to exceed the $10 million that Poker Stars has already guaranteed.
