Parent Gigamedia reveals future plans


Already successful in the online casino and poker sector, Gigamedia subsidiary Everest Poker.com is set to enter the Internet sports betting sector later this (2008) year, the parent company revealed this week.

Although it will not reveal the identity until nearer the launch of its sports betting platform, Everest has apparently already made arrangements to partner with an established sportsbetting outfit.

Gigamedia chairman Arthur Wang described the new initiative as a key first step into the sportsbetting sector, broadening Everest's product offering and attracting new players.
