New deal is for "Gladiator" and "The Untouchables"


Anticipation has been keen to see which movie concepts online gambling software provider Playtech next brings into its themes following comments in the company's trading updates recently, and it is now clear that these will be from the popular movies "Gladiator" and "The Untouchables".

The games developer has announced a new four-year exclusive licensing agreement with Paramount Pictures' to distribute branded games based on the two films.

Under the terms of the licensing agreement, Playtech licensees will have the exclusive rights to distribute a number of branded games based on the two titles. The games will be offered online, as part of Playtech's casino game inventory, and via server-based gaming terminals operated by Playtech subsidiary Videobet. The financial details of the deal were not disclosed.

Playtech CEO Mor Weizer commented: "We are pleased to have secured this important deal with Paramount Digital Entertainment, which will enable our licensees to offer games featuring two very well-known brands, Gladiator and The Untouchables. We are confident that this exclusive material supplied to our licensees will support their marketing efforts by increasing the profile of their games portfolio and enhancing the gaming experience for customers."

Playtech is one of the largest companies listed on London's AIM exchange, boasting a market value of around GBP 1.1 billion.
